
Improving Turkish-Greek Relations: A Call for Attention from BRTK

President Ersin Tatar of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus recently met with representatives from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan to discuss the importance of maintaining strong relations with the Greek side within the Organization of Turkish States (TDT) and the European Union (EU).
During a meeting with Davut Günaydın, Vice President of the Union of Travel Agencies of Türkiye (TÜRSAB), President Tatar emphasized the need for Turkish states to prioritize their relationships with the Greek side. He highlighted the cultural and linguistic similarities between Turkish states and stressed the importance of fostering positive interactions with the EU.
President Tatar expressed concerns about the EU’s attempts to prevent the TRNC from engaging in diplomatic relations with other TDT member states. He reiterated the Turkish thesis of a two-state solution for Cyprus and urged Turkish states to establish connections with both the Greeks and the TRNC.
