Indian Ports Connect with Uzbekistan via New Container Route
Uztemiryulcontainer Launches New Multimodal Route for Container Transportation from India to Uzbekistan
Uztemiryulcontainer, a transportation company, has introduced a new multimodal route for container shipments connecting India and Uzbekistan. This route involves shipping cargo from the Indian ports of Mundra, Nhava Sheva, and Chennai to Uzbekistan.
The process begins with the containers being transported by sea from India to the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas. From there, the containers are then loaded onto rail platforms and sent to the Sergeli station in Uzbekistan.
Specifically, the containers are first taken from Bandar Abbas to the Sarakhs station in Iran on Iranian platforms. They are then transferred onto platforms operated by Uztemiryulcontainer and carried through Turkmenistan to reach Uzbekistan.
The inaugural freight train, comprising 20 containers, traveled a total distance of 2,673 kilometers over a period of 20 days. It is anticipated that as the operations streamline, the delivery time for cargo along this route will be reduced to just 15 days.
This new multimodal route serves to enhance connectivity and efficiency in container transportation between India and Uzbekistan. It provides a cost-effective and timely solution for businesses looking to move goods between the two countries.
