
Inspector Arrested for Taking 200,000 Soms from Accounts Chamber

Security services have detained a current state inspector of the Accounts Chamber of the Kyrgyz Republic while receiving a bribe, according to a report from the press center of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS).
The inspector, identified as A.E.A., was conducting an audit of the expenditure of funds allocated from the republican budget to educational entities (secondary schools) in Issyk-Ata district of Chui region. It was discovered that he had extorted 200,000 soms from education workers in exchange for concealing deficiencies and issuing a positive audit opinion.
On April 11, security officers caught the state inspector in the act of receiving the bribe. As a result, he was placed in a pretrial detention center by the decision of the Oktyabrsky District Court until June 10. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
