International Crime Organization Leader Hector Elias Captured in Mexico.
Mexican authorities have captured an important figure of the notorious “Sinaloa Cartel” after a raid conducted in the city of Guamuchil. Elias, who had been on the run for a long time, had a bounty on his head and is believed to be responsible for numerous deaths and drug trafficking crimes. The state prosecutor’s office has commended the joint efforts of the institutions involved in the successful capture of Elias and expressed gratitude to all who contributed. The Sinaloa Cartel, founded in 1990 by “El Chapo” Joaquin Guzman, is considered the most powerful international drug and organized crime group in Mexico. Guzman himself has been caught and extradited to the United States after escaping from two maximum security prisons in Mexico in 2001 and 2015. The arrest of Elias is a significant blow to the Sinaloa Cartel and a major success for Mexican authorities in their ongoing fight against organized crime.
