Israeli Prisoner Jehud Speaks Out Amid Crisis in Agreement: Hoping to Reunite with Family Soon

Arbel Yehud, one of the Israeli female prisoners held in Gaza, has spoken out about her condition and hopes to return to her family soon. The armed wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Jerusalem Series, recently published images of Yehud, who was captured on January 25, 2025.
In a video message to her family, Yehud expressed, “I am fine, I miss you very much. Like other young women who have their freedom, I hope to meet you soon.”
Yehud was kept in close proximity to the Jerusalem Series and assured everyone that her condition is good. She identified herself as being from the Nir Oz Jewish Settlement Unit.
Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump have both made efforts to secure the release of all kidnapped and Palestinian prisoners, including Yehud.
However, the fact that Yehud was not released during the second round of captive exchange between Hamas and Israel caused a crisis. While Hamas released 4 Israeli prisoners, Yehud remained captive, citing a ceasefire and exchange agreement.
It was later announced that Yehud would be released before the third round of exchanges on Saturday. Qatar confirmed that the crisis had been resolved and an agreement was reached.
As part of the agreement, three Israeli prisoners, including Yehud, will be released on Saturday, February 1st. Additionally, residents of the Gaza Strip will be allowed passage from south to north.
The international community continues to monitor the situation closely, with reactions from the UN to Trump’s proposals and Lebanon granting additional time for the Israeli army to retreat. The hope remains that all parties involved can come to a peaceful resolution.
