Japanese Film Week Set to Return to Toldi Cinema in 2025
The highly anticipated Japanese Film Week is set to make its return to the screens of Toldi Cinema in 2025. Five exceptional Japanese films have been carefully selected for the event, showcasing the best of Japanese cinema from recent years. Among the lineup is the award-winning film “Under the Open Sky” directed by Nishikawa Miwa, one of Japan’s leading female directors, which will be screened on the closing day of the festival.
The Japanese Film Week kicks off on Monday, 13 January with the hilarious comedy “First Gentleman”, followed by the gripping family drama “After the Sunset” on Tuesday. The lineup also includes the heart-warming comedy “YUDO, the Way of the Bath”, offering insight into the traditional Japanese public baths (sento), and the captivating drama “The Tsugaru Lacquer Girl” for those interested in Japanese lacquering.
Each screening has an admission fee of HUF 1500 (EUR 3.6), and tickets can be purchased at the ticket office or the website of Toldi Mozi. The films will be shown in Japanese with English and Hungarian subtitles.
