Justice Minister Tunç questions responsibility for expert report in Kartalkaya statement

Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunç addressed various topics during the AK Party’s Group meeting in the Grand National Assembly, where he answered questions from journalists on the current agenda.
One of the key issues Minister Tunç discussed was the tragic fire disaster at the Kartalkaya Ski Center in Bolu, which resulted in the loss of 78 lives. He mentioned that an expert report on the incident would be completed shortly, with ongoing work from Istanbul Technical University’s expert team. Minister Tunç emphasized the importance of refraining from turning this tragic event into a polemic subject.
Regarding criticism from Republican People’s Party Chairman Ozgur Ozgur, Minister Tunç stated that responsibility for the incident would be determined once the expert report is released. He dismissed suggestions that individuals were attempting to evade accountability for the tragedy.
On the topic of a potential general amnesty, Minister Tunç clarified that discussions in the Turkish Grand National Assembly would determine the evaluation of such requests. He noted that the issue of general amnesty was not currently on the agenda.
Minister Tunç also touched upon the importance of enforcing the Law on the Protection of Animals, particularly in regard to derelict street animals. He emphasized the need for relevant institutions to fulfill their responsibilities under the law to prevent harm to both animals and the public. Minister Tunç emphasized that failure to comply with these responsibilities could result in legal consequences such as charges of injury, negligence, or killing.
