Kar-Iş opposes universities receiving Terrobe -BRTK
The Turkish Cypriot Contemporary Public Vehicles Operators Association (KAR-İŞ) has expressed their dissatisfaction with the recent decisions regarding transportation in the country. The association claims that politics has been unnecessarily injected into the transportation sector, causing further injustice and hindering its development.
KAR-İŞ President Fuat Topaloğlu criticized the permissions granted, particularly those given to universities, as being the result of political bargaining rather than merit. He believes that these decisions have only served the interests of politicians and have not contributed to the improvement of the transportation sector.
Topaloğlu emphasized that the development of the transportation sector has been stunted due to these political interventions. He stated, “We do not want to participate in a game where everything is turned into political favors. It is time for the authorities to take responsibility and address the concerns raised by industry professionals.”
The association is calling for a more fair and transparent approach to granting permissions in the transportation sector, one that prioritizes the needs of the industry and the public over political considerations. They are committed to continuing their advocacy efforts to ensure a better future for transportation in the country.
