Kazakh Ecology Ministry Launches Interactive Map of Natural Resources
Interactive Map of Natural Resources Available on Tabigat.gov.kz Website
Kazakhstan’s Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Nurlan Kurmalayev, announced the availability of an interactive map of natural resources on the Tabigat.gov.kz website during a briefing at the Central Communications Service (CCS) on Dec. 10.
The geographic information platform provides detailed information on the environmental situation and natural resources of the country, all tied to a geographic context. Users can access information on historical pollution, environmental stress, solid waste collection and recycling points, as well as geographic data on various natural resource objects such as surface waters, protected natural areas, recreational areas, wildlife habitats, migration routes, and hunting grounds.
Kurmalayev highlighted that the map offers uniform access to comprehensive environmental protection and natural resource data. In order to promote ecotourism, all natural objects on the platform are also available on popular online map services, allowing residents to plan their journeys and gather information in advance.
One of the key features of the interactive map is the use of space monitoring to identify locations of spontaneous dumping, illegal deforestation, and heat spots on the state forest land fund. Monitoring of spontaneous dumping covers 46 zones of interest, including major cities and densely populated areas.
This initiative aims to raise public awareness about environmental issues and promote responsible tourism practices in Kazakhstan. The interactive map serves as a valuable tool for both residents and tourists to explore the country’s natural beauty while also contributing to the preservation of its natural resources.
