Kazakhstan and Thailand Agree on Visa Exemption deal

Kazakh Government Approves Visa Exemption Agreement with Thailand

The Kazakh government has recently approved an agreement with Thailand that exempts national passport holders from visa requirements. This agreement was signed in Bangkok on April 23 and aims to facilitate travel between the two countries.

According to the agreement, citizens of Kazakhstan and Thailand with valid travel documents can enter, exit, transit, or temporarily stay in the other country for up to 30 days without a visa. The total duration of stay must not exceed 90 days within any 180-day period.

In cases where citizens of both countries plan to stay longer than 30 days, they will need to obtain the appropriate visa. Additionally, each country has the right to refuse entry, shorten, or terminate the stay of undesirable citizens as per their own laws and regulations.

Previously, a visa-free regime was in effect between Thailand and Kazakhstan from September 25, 2023, to February 29, 2024. The Thai government extended this period for another six months, from March 1 to August 31.

This agreement is expected to promote tourism and enhance bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Thailand. Travelers from both countries can now enjoy easier access and more convenient travel arrangements.
