Kazakhstan’s Flour Production and Exports in January-March
In the first quarter of the year, Kazakhstan saw significant success in its flour production and exports. According to reports from Energyprom.kz monitoring agency, the country produced 1.1 million tons of flour and exported products worth $131.7 million.
The regions of Kostanai, North Kazakhstan, and Shymkent played a major role in this achievement, accounting for 54.7% of the total production. Kostanai alone produced 326,000 tons, followed by North Kazakhstan with 153,400 tons, and Shymkent with 112,500 tons.
Despite a 15.2% decrease compared to the previous year, Kazakhstan managed to export a substantial amount of flour. A significant portion, about a quarter of the total volume, was sent to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, including Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Turkmenistan, Russia, and Belarus.
Additionally, Kazakhstan exported 336,700 tons of flour to countries outside the CIS, marking a 3.9% increase from the previous year. These exports were valued at $89.5 million and were sent to countries such as Afghanistan, China, Iraq, Türkiye, Georgia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Poland.
The flourishing flour production and export industry in Kazakhstan highlight the country’s growing agricultural sector and its ability to meet international demand for this essential product.
