Korean Car Exports to Kyrgyzstan Reach $757 Million in 2024
Bishkek – 24.kg news agency reported that in the first seven months of 2024, the Republic of Korea exported cars for $757 million to Kyrgyzstan. This information was obtained from the website of the Customs Service of South Korea.
Kyrgyzstan ranked seventh among importers of South Korean cars during this period, with cars worth $350 million being exported to Russia and cars worth $698 million being exported to Kazakhstan. The peak for exports to Russia occurred in February, with $75 million worth of cars being sent.
Compared to 2021, deliveries of South Korean products to these Central Asian countries have significantly increased, while exports to Russia have decreased. In 2023, cars worth $651 million were exported to Russia, $1.1 billion to Kazakhstan, and $972 million to Kyrgyzstan. In contrast, in 2021, Kyrgyzstan imported cars from South Korea for only $235 million.
This data indicates a significant growth in the import of South Korean cars to Kyrgyzstan and other countries in the region. It will be interesting to see how these trends continue in the coming months.
