KTSYD Celebrates its Achievers of the Year
KTSYD to Hold Achievers of the Year Award Ceremony
The Cyprus Turkish Sports Writers Association (KTSYD) will be organizing the Achievers of the Year Award Ceremony on Monday, July 3 this year. This event, marking the association’s 40th anniversary, will take place at the Fikret Ünlü Poolside at the Association’s Headquarters at 19.30.
During the ceremony, the KTSYD Board of Directors will present the Ahmed Sami Topcan Distinguished Service Award to Süleyman Göktaş. Göktaş has made significant contributions to the community and is deserving of this prestigious award.
Additionally, the Athlete of the Year award will be given to Buse Savaşkan, an exceptional high jump athlete who is currently pursuing her athletic career in Turkey. Buse’s achievements and dedication to her sport have earned her this recognition.
In the field of basketball, Ayşe Günerman Özılgaz will receive the Yusuf Kaptan Coach of the Year Award for her remarkable coaching skills and positive impact on her team.
The Sulhi Garan Referee of the Year Award will be presented to Mehmet Sezener for his outstanding performance in the field of football refereeing.
Furthermore, the Special Awards, which are traditionally given in the name of Zeka Özteknik at the Achievers of the Year Award Ceremony, have been determined by the association’s management. Among the recipients of these special awards is Şemsi Yıldırım, the goalkeeper of the China Bazaar Youth Force Handball Team, who has demonstrated exceptional skills and dedication to his sport.
Another deserving recipient of a special award is Bekir Devran Esendağlı, a young tennis athlete from the Famagusta Municipality Tennis Club, currently pursuing his tennis career in Ankara.
Lastly, Tahsin Özler will also receive a special award for his impressive contributions to the field of football.
