
Kyrgyz President Invites Putin to Visit Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov has invited Russia’s President Vladimir Putin to visit the Kyrgyz Republic in 2023. The invitation was extended during Japarov’s official visit to Moscow on May 8th. Putin accepted the invitation, according to a joint statement. The two leaders discussed issues related to bilateral and multilateral cooperation and the development of joint cooperation on all matters of common interest. Putin also expressed gratitude to Japarov for laying flowers at Rzhev, where 360,000 Kyrgyzstanis fought during the Great Patriotic War, and more than half of them did not return. The Russian President noted that Kyrgyzstan’s cooperation with Russia is on the rise, with trade increasing by 37% over the last year. Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov thanked Putin for the invitation and discussed the importance of continuing the dialogue between the two countries.
