Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan Collaborate on Cargo Transportation Development
A meeting of working groups from State Customs, Border Services, and Transport Ministries of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan was recently held at the Dostuk and Dustlik border customs posts in Osh, Kyrgyzstan, and Andijan, Uzbekistan. The main agenda of the meeting was to discuss the development of bilateral cargo transportation along the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China route.
According to a report on the website of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, the representatives focused on ways to enhance cargo transportation efficiency and streamline procedures at the border customs posts. They also addressed measures to prevent traffic jams and congestion caused by the movement of goods along the route.
The cargo transportation route from Tashkent to Andijan, Osh, Irkeshtam, and Kashgar was established in February 2018. This corridor has significantly reduced transportation time, with goods now reaching their destination in just two days.
The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation between the two countries and improve trade relations by facilitating smoother and more efficient transport of goods. Stay tuned for more updates on the progress of the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China trade route.
