Kyrgyzstan Detains Fighter Returning from Syria

Bishkek – 24.kg news agency has reported that a 31-year-old man, who fought in Syria against government forces of Iraq, has been detained in Bishkek. According to the press center of the State Committee for National Security, the Kyrgyz citizen was recruited by an international terrorist organization while working abroad and then moved to Syria through Turkey in 2015.

The man underwent sabotage and combat training in militant camps in Iraqi Mosul, and subsequently participated in hostilities against Iraqi government forces on the side of terrorists. He has now been placed in the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security.

This incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing threat posed by international terrorism, and the need for increased vigilance and cooperation among countries to combat this global issue.
