Kyrgyzstan Increases Pensions Starting October 1
Pensions Increased in Kyrgyzstan Starting October 1
Pensions in Kyrgyzstan have been increased starting October 1, with the minimum size now set at 6,900 soms.
According to a resolution by the Cabinet of Ministers, the insurance part of pensions has been instructed to be raised by 18 percent, but not less than by 1,000 soms. Pensions that are below 6,900 soms will be raised to the minimum subsistence level.
This decision comes after a meeting in June led by President Sadyr Japarov, where the Chairman of the Social Fund Baktiyar Aliev reported on the collection of insurance payments reaching its highest level since 2021. The increase in salaries of various professionals has led to a significant growth in insurance premium payments, which in turn has contributed to the rise in pensions. The Social Fund has also developed a strategy for the development of the pension system, with several bills being adopted.
An additional 60 billion soms will be spent on increasing pensions within three years, highlighting the government’s commitment to improving the welfare of retirees.
Since July 1, the basic part of the pension has been increased to 3,500 soms for those who were receiving less than the established rate of 3,170 soms. These measures aim to provide financial support and security for pensioners in Kyrgyzstan.
