Mehmet Ali Sleepr Steps Down from IYI Party and Withdraws Candidacy
Istanbul Deputy Candidate Mehmet Ali Sleepr of the IYI Party has withdrawn from his candidacy and resigned from the party. The reason for his resignation is his overpowering grief for his brothers who were martyred in his arms during their work in Cizre. Speaking about his loss, Sleepr said, “He comes in my dreams, he only says: Brother, did we become martyrs for nothing?” Meanwhile, another IYI Party member, Uyur, who was also on duty in Cizre during the 6-8 October incidents, expressed his discomfort with the Nation Alliance’s dialogue with the HDP and PKK. He firmly stated that he would not accept it and that the Turkish nation would give an answer at the ballot box. Uyur also expressed his discomfort with FETO members in the IYI Party and questioned why Meral Akşener keeps them so close.
