
Mild tremors felt in Uzbekistan following 5.5 magnitude earthquake in Afghanistan

A 5.5 magnitude earthquake has been reported in Afghanistan, with seismic activity also impacting neighboring Uzbekistan. The Seismological Monitoring Center under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan confirmed the occurrence of the earthquake.
In Uzbekistan, the Surkhandarya region experienced tremors with a magnitude of 2-3 points, while the Fergana, Syrdarya, Jizzakh, and Andijan regions felt tremors up to 2 points. Additionally, underground tremors were recorded in the Samarkand, Namangan, and Kashkadarya regions.
As reports continue to come in, authorities are keeping a close eye on the situation and monitoring for any potential damages or aftershocks. Residents in the affected areas are urged to stay alert and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
