Minister Arıklı Visits Education Park
Minister of Public Works and Transport Inspects Northern Cyprus Turkcell Education Park
Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı recently conducted an inspection of the Northern Cyprus Turkcell Education Park, which has been inactive for some time. During his visit, Arıklı was accompanied by Traffic Department Director Ahmet Aydın and Ministry Private Secretary Hande Güzoğlu.
The Ministry of Public Works and Transport reported that Arıklı received information about the education park from Mehmet Avcı, President of the Traffic Accident Prevention Association. Arıklı emphasized the importance of the facility for the traffic education of children and expressed the need for it to be restored to its former glory. He stated, “For this purpose, we will start working as soon as possible in cooperation with stakeholders.”
The Northern Cyprus Turkcell Education Park was established in 2010 through a collaboration between the Association for the Prevention of Traffic Accidents (TKÖD), the Ministry of National Education, Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Local Governments, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the General Directorate of Police, and Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell. The facility features classrooms, administration buildings, a training track, and a seat belt simulator. The training track includes various elements such as a roundabout, illuminated intersections, vehicle paths, bicycle paths, and pedestrian paths.
Minister Arıklı’s visit underscores the government’s commitment to promoting traffic safety and education initiatives for children in Northern Cyprus. Plans are underway to restore and improve the Northern Cyprus Turkcell Education Park to ensure its continued effectiveness in educating the youth about road safety.
