“Minister Institution delivers 4 positive updates to site and facility managers”
Minister Murat Kurum, the Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, attended the “Meeting with Istanbul Site and Facility Managers” program at Üsküdar Mehmet Çakır Cultural Center and gave some good news to the Institution, site, and facility managers.
In his speech, Minister Kurum highlighted the importance of safe and peaceful homes and mentioned that Istanbul has undergone a transformation with 1.5 million houses. He mentioned that 585,000 applications have been made for independent sections in Istanbul so far, which indicates that the lives of 2.3 million citizens are changing. He praised the site and facility managers for their role in this transformation and called them the driving force of the whole process.
Moreover, the Minister stated that the Ministry is making efforts to improve the service quality of site and facility managers. One of the good news he shared was that the Ministry is starting a process to determine the situation and prepare solution proposals regarding the burden of 18 percent VAT. Another good news was that the Ministry will establish a ‘supervisory’ unit that will regulate minimum standards by measuring the adequacy in theory and in practice. This regulation will grant the right to competent names who meet certain standards.
Lastly, Minister Kurum stated that they are at the final stage in their efforts to impose security guards on sites with a population of more than 300-400. He said they are waiting for the parliamentary legislative period to be over, and the government will provide legal assurance with the support of their deputies and people’s alliance.
In conclusion, the Minister emphasized that the site and facility managers have a significant role to play in the establishment’s growth and continuity, and they will continue to work together to move the sector forward. After the program, the Minister visited the AK Party and MHP stands with the Üsküdar Mayor Mehmet Hilmi Türkmen.
