Minister Tunç Takes Firm Action in Response to Newborn Care Unit Scandal
Minister Tunç has made strong statements regarding the ongoing investigation into newborn care units in some private hospitals in Istanbul. The investigation was initiated following a complaint received by CİMER from a concerned citizen on March 27, 2023.
After a thorough investigation that lasted approximately one year, 47 individuals were detained and 22 were arrested in connection with the identified crime records and criminals. Judicial control decisions were issued for 25 individuals, including 11 doctors. The indictment has been prepared and will be presented in court.
Furthermore, Minister Tunç emphasized the importance of continuing the investigation meticulously to ensure that those responsible face the necessary administrative and judicial consequences. The President has also expressed support for the investigation and urged for swift action against any wrongdoing.
In response to recent remarks made by Kılıçdaroğlu, Minister Tunç stated that a criminal complaint has been filed due to the unacceptable and insulting language used. He highlighted the importance of conducting politics with respect and decency, and condemned the use of derogatory language in political discourse.
