Minister Oğuz Assessing Damage to Fields After Natural Disaster.

Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Dursun Oğuz, recently inspected the fields of producers who suffered damage due to severe hailstorms last week. Undersecretary of the Ministry Emirali Deveci, Director of the Ministry Mehmet Ercilasun, Director of Agriculture Department Reşat Değirmenci, Director of Agricultural Research Institute Cem Karaca, Director of General Agricultural Insurance Fund İpek Kızılduman, President of Farmers Union Mehmet Nizam, and union representatives were also present during the inspection.
Minister Oğuz visited the Vadili, Turunçlu, Paşaköy, and Yılmazköy regions to see the damaged fields of producers himself. In his speech during the examination, he reassured the producers that the government and the ministry are with them, adding that the relevant units of the ministry, the Department of Agriculture, and the General Agricultural Insurance Fund have started evaluating the damage.
The minister urged the affected producers to contact their local Agriculture Departments as soon as possible to file a claim regarding their losses. He reminded them of how some producers have had grievances in the past and cautioned them to apply to the Agricultural Insurance Fund promptly and get their delivery receipts.
The Agriculture Department and the General Agricultural Insurance Fund immediately took field action with the Farmers’ Union after determining the areas where the hail had fallen. The damaged areas were examined on-site to address the producers’ demands and complaints, and the ministry will carry out the necessary studies after receiving the producers’ applications.
Minister Oğuz expressed his condolences to the producers who suffered losses and assured them that the General Agricultural Insurance Fund and Agriculture Department will evaluate the applications and conduct necessary examinations and studies.
Due to hail damage and product loss earlier in the year, the current season poses significant obstacles to production. Minister Oğuz stressed the importance of production and assured the public that the ministry has already begun working to prevent producers from being in trouble.
