
Minister Uraloğlu Announces 4.5 Kilometer New Metro Line for Istanbul

Minister Uraloğlu, speaking at the AK Party Umraniye District Presidency Organization Sahur Program, emphasized the importance of working tirelessly to bring service to every corner of the country day and night. However, he also highlighted that Istanbul holds a special place in their efforts.
He explained that the goal is to make Istanbul more livable and stronger, as the city serves as a bridge connecting Asia and Europe where civilizations meet. Uraloğlu praised the significant investments made in transportation infrastructure under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, totaling 1 trillion 381 billion pounds.
Highlighting key projects such as Marmaray, Eurasia Tunnel, Istanbul Airport, and various metro lines, Uraloğlu expressed the government’s commitment to improving transportation in Istanbul. He emphasized the importance of urban rail projects in easing the city’s traffic congestion.
The approval of the Altunizade-Camlıca Mosque-Bosna Boulevard Metro Line project, which will extend to Umraniye Sports Village, was also mentioned. Uraloğlu clarified that this project was not taken from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, emphasizing the Ministry’s role in urban development.
Furthermore, Uraloğlu stated that with the completion of ongoing projects, Istanbul’s rail system length will increase to 388.5 kilometers, yet more than 600 kilometers of new subway lines are still needed to meet the city’s demands. He assured that the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure is dedicated to providing fast, safe, and comfortable transportation solutions for Istanbul residents.
In conclusion, Uraloğlu reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to serving Istanbulites and announced the launch of a new FM frequency for Publishing and Communication on February 13th. The efforts to enhance Istanbul’s transportation network continue to be a top priority for the government.
