Ministry Cracks Down on Landfill Regulation in Regions

The Ministry of Natural Resources in Kyrgyzstan is taking action to regulate landfills in the country’s regions. Recently, inspectors from the Chui Regional Department of the Environmental and Technical Supervision Service found violations in Nurmanbet ayil okmotu in Chui region.

According to the ministry’s press service, it was discovered that there is no authorized landfill in the area, and solid household and construction waste is being disposed of without the necessary permits.

As a result of these findings, the local authorities have been fined 13,000 soms. Additionally, the ayil okmotu representatives have been given an order to rectify the violations and ensure that the landfill meets the required standards.
