Mirziyoyev Suggests National ID Card Recognition Across Central Asia

During a recent consultative meeting with leaders from Central Asian states, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan put forth a proposal for mutual recognition of national ID cards and the creation of joint tourism products in line with the “One Visa – Entire Region” principle. The aim is to boost tourism exchange within the region.

It was emphasized that the tourism sector is increasingly playing a crucial role in fostering regional cooperation, with a notable rise in internal regional tourism flows in recent years.

In the upcoming month, the next Inter-Parliamentary Forum of countries in the region is set to take place in the historic city of Khiva.

To further enhance mutual understanding and unity among the people of the region, President Mirziyoyev suggested hosting a scientific forum that focuses on the practical aspects of shaping regional distinctiveness.

Furthermore, the proposal includes the regular organization of a regional youth competition aimed at showcasing innovative ideas and projects to advance the “Central Asian Youth Agenda – 2030” and engage the younger generation in cooperation initiatives.

Plans were also put forward to establish an agreement for recognizing diplomas from prominent higher education institutions across the countries and to establish a Central Asian education and academic exchange program. Additionally, scholarships for talented students will be provided based on mutual agreements.

All of these proposed projects will be thoroughly discussed at the First Central Asia Education Forum, which is scheduled to take place in Tashkent in October.
