Mongolia Ranks 46th in E-Government Development Index
The United Nations recently published the E-Government Development Index for 2024, which evaluates the online presence and e-government policies of all 193 Member States. Mongolia made significant progress in this year’s index, moving up to the 46th place from 74th place in 2022.
The EGDI assesses how countries utilize e-government strategies to deliver essential services to their citizens. Mongolia’s improvement in the index reflects its commitment to digital governance and innovation. The table below illustrates Mongolia’s ranking in the EGDI since 2003.
In addition to its performance in the EGDI, Mongolia also saw a boost in the e-participation index, climbing to the 37th place from 57th place in 2022. The table below showcases Mongolia’s rankings in the e-participation index over the years.
Among the top performers in the EGDI, Denmark claimed the 1st place globally, while Singapore led the rankings in the Asian region. In terms of e-participation, Ukraine secured the top spot globally, with Japan taking the lead in Asia.
These rankings highlight the progress and advancements made by countries in leveraging technology for governance and citizen engagement. Mongolia’s upward trajectory in both indices signifies its dedication to fostering a more digitally inclusive and participatory society.
