Moroccan Chef Wins Grand Prix at Yunus Ahmetzyanov Young Chefs Competition
The Yunus Ahmetzyanov young chefs competition at KazanForum-2024 recently concluded with the announcement of the Grand Prix winner, Oadidou Redouane from Morocco. This year, the competition had an international status and welcomed participation from representatives of the countries belonging to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Redouane expressed his pride in overcoming challenges and commended the organization and the jury for their efforts. He shared his passion for cooking various cuisines, including Italian, Japanese, Russian, and Tatar. Bringing unique Moroccan ingredients such as cumin, paprika, saffron, puff pastry, and agar-agar, Redouane showcased his culinary skills.
Andrey Sakhovsky, the brand chef of Memsol Group of companies and the chairman of the judging panel, highlighted the criteria used for evaluating the dishes, which included appearance, taste, and presentation. He praised Redouane for managing to prepare nine dishes almost single-handedly, demonstrating exceptional taste and quality.
Participants from 13 countries, including Egypt, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, and Iran, captivated the audience at KazanForum with their culinary talents. A unique aspect of the competition was that visitors to the event could also sample the dishes prepared by the young chefs, adding to the overall experience.
