Müpa Budapest Announces 2025 Lineup with World-Renowned Performers
Exciting news for music and art lovers in Budapest! Müpa Budapest, formerly known as the Palace of Arts, has announced an incredible lineup of performances for 2025. The roster includes some of the biggest names in music and art, promising a year filled with unforgettable experiences.
Renowned artists like Joyce DiDonato, Jordi Savall, Riccardo Chailly, and the Vienna Philharmonic are set to grace the stage at Müpa Budapest. In addition to these international stars, the best of jazz and popular music, as well as many talented local artists, will also perform, adding diversity and richness to the program.
Highlights of the upcoming performances include the Filarmonica della Scala from Milan, conducted by Riccardo Chailly, showcasing a rare piece by Luciano Berio. Cellist Gautier Capuçon will mesmerize the audience with Dvorák’s popular cello concerto. Andris Nelsons, conducting the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, will present Dvorak’s “The Golden Spinning Wheel,” a unique piece seldom heard in concert halls.
British conductor Thomas Adès will lead performances of a Haydn symphony and Leoš Janáček’s overlooked masterpiece “Taras Bulba,” along with contemporary works. The German Chamber Philharmonic Bremen, under the direction of Paavo Järvi, will bring works by Beethoven and Schubert to the stage, featuring world-renowned violinist Janine Jansen.
A special treat awaits as conductor Jordi Savall prepares a new, complete version of Mozart’s unfinished “Great Mass in C minor, K. 427.” Jazz enthusiasts can look forward to the Oslo Jazz Ensemble, led by Maria Schneider, presenting avant-garde big band jazz in Budapest.
In addition to musical performances, Müpa Budapest will also host a series celebrating Hungarian animation, featuring works by acclaimed filmmakers such as Attila Dargay, Béla Ternovszky, Gábor Csupó, and Marcell Jankovics.
