Naryn State University Master’s Studies Center Director Arrested for Bribery

Director of Naryn State University’s Center for Master’s, Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies was caught giving a bribe of $4,000 to a security services officer, according to a report by the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (SCNS). The university’s management is suspected of violating legislation in the education field, including abusing their official position, violating requirements for enrolling, transferring, and readmitting students, and issuing illegal diplomas to foreign students. The suspect was caught and detained in the act by SCNS officials during the bribery attempt.
