New Children’s Park Named Angels Team Opens in Aras Aktuğralı
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel recently attended the opening ceremony of the “Angels Team Aras Aktuğralı Children’s Park” in Geçitkale, which was renovated by the Geçitkale – Serdarlı Municipality. The park was named after Aras Aktuğralı from the Champion Angels Team, and Prime Minister Üstel commended Mayor Halil Kasım and his team for their efforts in making the park a reality.
During his speech, Üstel emphasized the importance of keeping the memory of the children who lost their lives in the February 6, 2023 earthquake alive. He acknowledged the great loss suffered by the Turkish Cypriot community and highlighted the unity and solidarity shown by the people in the aftermath of the disaster.
Furthermore, Üstel addressed the upcoming Isias case involving the Champion Angels Team, stating that he would personally file a lawsuit not only as a Prime Minister but also as a father seeking justice for the victims. He expressed confidence that the perpetrators would receive the appropriate punishment for their actions.
In addition to Üstel’s remarks, Murat Aktuğralı, the father of Aras Aktuğralı, spoke at the ceremony and shared the pain and emptiness felt by the families of the victims. He called for justice to be served and emphasized the importance of holding the perpetrators accountable for their actions.
The event also served as a platform to raise awareness about the ongoing quest for justice and support for the “Voice to Justice” event scheduled to take place on December 20 in Famagusta Namık Kemal Square. The opening of the “Angels Team Aras Aktuğralı Children’s Park” symbolized the community’s commitment to solidarity and remembrance of the lives lost in the tragic earthquake.
