New Highway from Aydın to Denizli Opens; President Erdoğan Announces 7.4 Billion Lira in Savings
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan recently delivered significant statements at the Aydın-Denizli Highway Opening Ceremony, emphasizing the importance of reducing travel times. The newly opened Aydın-Denizli highway adds to the existing network, covering a total length of 163 km, including main and connection roads, bridges, interchanges, viaducts, overpasses, and highway service facilities.
The completion of the project has significantly reduced travel times between Aydın and Denizli, saving an estimated total of 7.4 billion lira annually, including savings from time and fuel costs. This development not only improves transportation but also reduces carbon emissions by 61 tons, contributing to environmental sustainability.
Erdoğan highlighted the role of roads in advancing civilization, emphasizing the importance of infrastructure in facilitating industry, production, tourism, culture, safety, and overall development. The Aydın-Denizli highway will enhance the transport of industrial and agricultural products, boost tourism revenues, and attract investments in the region.
Addressing critics of transportation investments, Erdoğan emphasized the government’s commitment to progress and development. He underscored the transformative impact of transportation infrastructure on the country, noting the significant increase in road length and average speed over the past 22 years. Erdoğan expressed confidence in achieving even greater levels of connectivity and efficiency in the future.
