New Title: Minister Uraloğlu announces completion of high-speed train project, reducing travel time to 45 minutes from 78 minutes – Latest News
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu recently provided an update on the progress of the Saray-Kırklareli Road construction project, highlighting the completion of a 33.1-kilometer section of the 71.1-kilometer road. This portion of the road, built to divided road standards with a project cost of approximately 4 billion liras, was opened to traffic. Minister Uraloğlu expressed the government’s goal to finish a 4-kilometer section of the road, designed entirely as a divided road, and open it to traffic by the end of the year.
The Saray-Kırklareli Road serves as a crucial link connecting Kırklareli to Tekirdağ and Istanbul via Saray. Minister Uraloğlu emphasized the decision to upgrade the entire road to divided road standards following consultations with local authorities and the General Directorate of Highways. The project aims to enhance transportation efficiency and safety, with potential annual savings of 868 million liras in time and fuel.
In addition to the Saray-Kırklareli Road construction, Minister Uraloğlu discussed the progress of the Halkalı-Kapıkule High-Speed Train Line. The 153-kilometer Çerkezköy-Kapıkule section is expected to be opened in August of next year, with plans to complete the remaining portion by the end of 2026. Once completed, the high-speed train line will significantly reduce travel times for both passengers and freight, improving connectivity and transportation efficiency along the route.
Minister Uraloğlu underscored the government’s commitment to delivering essential infrastructure projects that benefit the citizens of Kırklareli and contribute to the overall development of the region. The ongoing works on the Saray-Kırklareli Road and the Halkalı-Kapıkule High-Speed Train Line are clear indicators of this dedication towards enhancing transportation infrastructure and connectivity in Turkey.
