
New Vending Machines Provide Food and Water for Stray Animals in Tatlısu

A Milestone Achieved in TRNC: Recycling Vending Machines for Stray Animals Installed in Tatlısu
In a groundbreaking initiative, recycling vending machines that dispense food and water for stray animals have been installed in Tatlısu, TRNC. This innovative project aims to tackle the issues of waste management, animal welfare, and environmental conservation in the region.
The initiative was made possible through the purchase of two Pugedon Mamamatics with proceeds from a bazaar organized in collaboration with Rose’s Country Club, Tatlısu Rescued Dogs, and the contributions of Tatlısu Municipality. The vending machines were officially opened in a ceremony attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, Tatlısu Mayor Hayri Orçan, and other key stakeholders.
During the inauguration event, Mayor Orçan expressed his delight in bringing the vending machines to Tatlısu as part of the zero waste project, emphasizing the importance of recycling and supporting stray animals. Deputy Prime Minister Ataoğlu commended Tatlısu Municipality and its environmentally conscious citizens for introducing the animal-friendly vending machines, marking a significant milestone for TRNC.
Ataoğlu highlighted the significance of meeting the essential needs of stray animals while addressing the plastic waste issue through recycling. He expressed hope that this initiative would inspire similar projects across the country.
Following the speeches, Deputy Prime Minister Ataoğlu and Mayor Orçan symbolically threw the first plastic bottle into the vending machines, activating the recycling process that benefits stray animals. This project signifies a positive step towards a more sustainable and animal-friendly future in TRNC.
