On May 9th, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan laid the foundation stone for a non-residential building in the city of Shusha. The new building will be located on Garabagh Street and will cover a total area of 5,745 square meters. It will feature A and B blocks and an office center.

During his visit to the city, President Aliyev was also informed about the forthcoming works to be carried out in the nearby streets of Garabagh and Sadigjan. A 4-storey residential building will be constructed on Garabagh Street, occupying a total area of 5,400 square meters. The building will house 25 two-room and 6 three-room apartments.

These projects are aimed at the redevelopment and renovation of the city’s infrastructure in line with the Azerbaijani government’s efforts to reconstruct the liberated territories of the country. Shusha, which was liberated from Armenian occupation in November 2020, is one of the most important cities in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.

President Aliyev’s visit to Shusha and his laying the foundation stone for the non-residential building is yet another indicator of Azerbaijan’s commitment to rebuilding the region and creating modern living and working spaces for its citizens. The Azerbaijani government is investing heavily in the reconstruction of the country’s liberated territories and is expected to continue doing so in the years to come.
