
Nurse Threatens Prosecutor Yavuz Engin for Release of Tuğçe Top Temel

Public Prosecutor Yavuz Engin, who led the investigation into the Yenidoğan Gang, faced death threats from gang members as detention and arrest orders were issued. Mustafa Kemal Zengin, a gang member, tried to intimidate him by suggesting, “Take a photo with me and share it, they won’t harm you.”
In the latest development, it was revealed that Zengin, who was detained during the investigation, was arrested by the judgeship on charges of “establishing an organization to commit a crime” and “attempting intentional murder within the scope of the organization.”
According to CNN TÜRK Istanbul News Director Nihat Uludağ, it was uncovered that Zengin had also threatened head nurse Tuğçe Topsosyal with evacuation. Statements were taken from various individuals involved in the case, including Yavuz Çelik, who expressed surprise at the developments, stating that the family was also taken aback by the situation.
The number of complaints reached 350 from individuals alleging that baby emergency patients were transferred to pre-arranged private hospitals, resulting in their deaths and generating unfair profits. The indictment prepared against 47 defendants, with 22 in detention, has been accepted.
In the indictment accepted by the Bakırköy High Criminal Court, suspects Fırat Sarı, İlker Gönen, and Gıyasettin Mert Özdemir face multiple charges including deliberate murder through negligence, fraud, establishing an organization to commit a crime, and forgery of official documents, with requested sentences ranging from 177 years to 589 years and 9 months in prison.
The gang members also posted threatening images directed at the prosecutor overseeing the investigation on social media. The indictment includes provisions for prison sentences and the implementation of security measures specific to legal entities involved in the crimes.
