Minister Işıkhan Highlights İŞKUR’s Strategic Mission in Analyzing Labor Market Dynamics
Minister Işıkhan has emphasized the crucial role that İŞKUR plays in understanding the dynamics of the labor market and directly observing the demands of employers in the field. He stated that the Ministry has conducted large-scale field research to analyze these dynamics effectively.
Işıkhan highlighted that approximately 86 thousand workplaces are visited every year to conduct labor market research. He stated, “Through these studies, we gain valuable insights into our employers’ staffing needs, skills requirements, and other critical industry needs. This not only helps us meet current demands but also shapes our strategies for the future.”
“Our goal is to keep the unemployment rate in single digits,” Minister Işıkhan stated, referring to the recent positive employment data. According to TÜİK data, the number of employed individuals has increased by 1.3 points to 49.6 percent, with the unemployment rate decreasing to 8.8 percent. The Minister also announced the 2025-2027 Medium Term Program, aiming to maintain the unemployment rate in single digits.
Işıkhan also pointed out the success of İŞKUR in mediating employment. He stated that while 786,501 people were placed in jobs in the January-August period of 2023, this figure increased by 20.5 percent to 947,388 people in the same period of 2024. The Minister highlighted that the number of people placed in employment has now exceeded 1 million, showcasing İŞKUR’s effective role and success in the labor market. Cooperation projects aimed at enhancing workforce quality will continue to facilitate the employment of more individuals.
