Mongolians Abroad to Vote in 2024 General Election
Mongolian citizens living abroad will have the opportunity to participate in the upcoming 2024 general election, which will take place on June 20, 21, 22, and 23. A total of 13,095 individuals living in foreign countries were registered in the voter’s list to cast their votes in the elections. This marks a significant increase compared to the 2012 election, with the number of registered voters tripling thanks to online registration.
Registered voters can visit the polling station located in the Diplomatic Mission and vote using their ID card or national passport. The voting process will be open until 07:22:00 local time, allowing all eligible voters to participate in shaping the future of Mongolia.
After the voting period, the commission will collect sealed ballot papers and deliver them to the General Election Committee through the Central Commission. The counting process will kick off at 22:00 on June 28, with transparency and openness ensured by the presence of observers and representatives from media organizations.
Ahead of the 2024 parliamentary elections, the platforms of 19 parties and two coalitions have been made public. Campaigning efforts by the candidates are in full swing, with each party and coalition working hard to communicate their policies and agendas to the voters.
