Pendikspor’s Victory Propels Them to Super League in Last Minute Win against Bodrumspor
Pendikspor has made history by defeating Bodrumspor 2-1 in the Spor Toto 1st League play-off final, earning their spot in the Super League for the first time. The match, held at the Spor Toto Akhisar Stadium, saw Adrien Regattin score the first goal in the 30th minute from a penalty, followed by a goal from Rogerio Thuram, assisted by Regattin. In the 62nd minute, Bodrumspor’s Süleyman Özdamar received a red card, leaving them with just 10 players for the remainder of the match. Pendikspor finished the game victorious.
Pendikspor finished third in the league this season and marked their place in the Super League after Yılport Samsunspor and Çaykur Rizespor in the 1st League. They are the 75th representative of the league by getting a Super League visa this season. Adrien Regattin, who scored 13 goals in the regular season, continued to perform with one goal and one assist against Bodrumspor.
This is Osman Özköylü’s second championship in the 1st League, having previously led Kayseri Erciyesspor to the Super League in the 2012-2013 season.
Pendikspor becomes the first team to make it to the Super League from the 1st League play-offs, finishing the regular season in third place. They are representing Istanbul in the Super League next season.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulated Pendikspor on their promotion via social media, wishing all competing teams success in the new season.
