President Aliyev Meets ECO Secretary General
President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, met with Asad Majeed Khan, Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization, to discuss preparations for the upcoming summit.
During the meeting, President Aliyev expressed Azerbaijan’s readiness to host the summit and contribute to enhancing cooperation among member states. As an active member of the organization, Azerbaijan has continuously supported key agenda items and hosted various subsidiary bodies.
Asad Majeed Khan praised Azerbaijan’s experience in hosting international events, particularly highlighting the successful organization of COP29. He also mentioned his upcoming participation in the 12th Global Baku Forum and emphasized the importance of addressing global issues on such platforms.
Both sides discussed further prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Economic Cooperation Organization, considering the historical, cultural, and geographical proximity, as well as common values and religion shared among member states.
As preparations for the summit continue, it is expected that Azerbaijan will host the event at a high level, showcasing its commitment to advancing regional cooperation and addressing key issues on the organization’s agenda.
