President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan congratulates National Football Team on their victory against Georgia
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called and congratulated the National Football Team after their 3-1 victory against Georgia in the first match of Group F in the 2024 European Championship hosted by Germany.
After the match, President Erdoğan spoke with Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak, President of the Turkish Football Federation Mehmet Büyükekşi, Coach of the National Football Team Vincenzo Montella, and players Arda Güler and Kerem Aktürkoğlu.
President Erdoğan praised the team’s performance, particularly highlighting Mert’s goal as the most important of the championship and Arda’s goal as perfect. He expressed his happiness and congratulated all the players.
Coach Montella extended an invitation to President Erdoğan for the upcoming match against Portugal on June 22nd.
During his conversation with Arda Güler, who was selected as the man of the match for his stylish goal, President Erdoğan commended him and encouraged him to continue his excellent performance.
President Erdoğan also met with Kerem Aktürkoğlu, who scored the last goal of the match, congratulating him for his skillful play.
Additionally, President Erdoğan wished a happy birthday to Coach Montella, who celebrated his 50th birthday on the same day.
Minister Bak conveyed the greetings of all players to President Erdoğan, who expressed his appreciation and well wishes to the entire team.
