Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov to Attend Victory Day Celebrations in Russia

President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan is set to embark on a working visit to the Russian Federation from May 8 to 9, following an invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin. This visit coincides with significant commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, as reported by Sagynbek Abdumutalip, head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration.
During the visit, President Japarov will engage in several official events, culminating in his participation in the anniversary Victory Parade at Red Square in Moscow. The parade, which honors the contributions and sacrifices made during World War II, will also feature a unit from the National Guard of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Although initially scheduled to participate in these ceremonies, it has been confirmed that President Japarov will not have a meeting with President Putin during his visit to Moscow.
As Kyrgyzstan commemorates this historic occasion alongside other nations and veterans, the involvement of its President and military presence underscores the ongoing significance of the Great Patriotic War in the region’s collective memory.
