President Tokayev Praises Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan Inter-Parliamentary Diplomacy
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan praised the progress in inter-parliamentary diplomacy between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan during a meeting with Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairperson of the Uzbek Senate. The meeting, held on June 19, highlighted the well-coordinated work at the governmental level between the two countries.
President Tokayev commended Narbayeva for her support and participation in the Dialogue of Women of Central Asia, an important initiative that took place in Astana on the same day. He expressed confidence that the outcomes of the event would strengthen regional engagement and contribute to the establishment of long-term solutions for gender equality and sustainable development in Central Asia.
The Kazakh President also mentioned the positive results of his state visit to Uzbekistan in December, expressing his support for the hosting of the second inter-parliamentary forum in Samarkand, Uzbekistan next year.
Narbayeva conveyed greetings from the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, acknowledging the significant events that have contributed to the political modernization of Kazakhstan’s system. She praised Kazakhstan’s reforms and the support they receive from the people.
During a meeting with Maulen Ashimbayev, Chair of the Kazakh Senate, Narbayeva emphasized the importance of constructive collaboration between parliamentarians to strengthen the strategic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Ashimbayev highlighted the deep historical and cultural ties between the two countries, emphasizing the fraternal relationship and strong partnership they share. He discussed the effective platform of the commission on cooperation between the upper chambers of both countries, which facilitates the exchange of legislative experience and dialogue on important bilateral issues. Ashimbayev also expressed hope for continued cooperation with Uzbek colleagues on addressing the challenges related to the Aral Sea.
Furthermore, Ashimbayev congratulated Narbayeva on the successful nationwide referendum held in Uzbekistan and highlighted the legislative efforts of the Kazakh Parliament in supporting the reforms initiated by President Tokayev.
The development of inter-parliamentary diplomacy and cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan demonstrates the commitment to strengthening ties and advancing mutual interests between the two nations.
