QazaqAir Launches New International Flight Connecting Astana, Turkistan, and Samarkand

ASTANA – On May 1, coinciding with the Day of Unity of the People, QazaqAir celebrated the launch of a new international flight along the Astana-Turkistan-Samarkand route at the Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport.

During the ceremony, Acting Chairman of QazaqAir Adilbek Umraliev underscored the historical, trade, and economic ties between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan as pivotal factors motivating the establishment of this route. He highlighted the increasing tourist demand for both Turkistan and Samarkand, alongside the growing interest in the Kazakh capital.

“We have developed a flight program specifically tailored for travelers, allowing them to journey between all three cities on Thursdays and Sundays. This provides the perfect opportunity to explore these rich cultural destinations within a couple of days,” Umraliev stated.

QazaqAir Chairman Andrew Cowen also expressed the strategic significance of this new route. “This is a very quick, direct connection to Samarkand from Astana and Turkistan, which are both cities brimming with remarkable history,” he commented.

The launch of this flight not only enhances connectivity between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan but also aims to boost tourism traffic in the region, inviting travelers to discover the unique offerings of these historic cities.
