“The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Member States Cultural and Tourism Exchange Festival Kicks Off in Qingdao”
The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Member States Cultural and Tourism Exchange Festival started on March 10, 2025, in Qingdao, China. The event, organized by the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Qingdao Municipal People’s Government, aligns with Qingdao’s appointment as the SCO Tourism and Cultural Capital for 2024-2025.
The festival showcased the city’s cultural and tourism assets, along with an exhibition of cultural and tourism products from SCO member states. Zhao Yan, Deputy Mayor of Qingdao, expressed the city’s intentions to enhance various forms of tourism, including maritime and health tourism, and to foster cultural collaboration with other SCO member states.
The festival agenda features demonstrations of folk crafts, food tastings of national dishes, presentations of traditional attire, and themed tours of Qingdao’s historical locations.
Scheduled to run until the end of March, the festival serves as a crucial platform for bolstering cultural connections among SCO member states.
