Uzbekistan’s Railway Sector Sees Significant Passenger Growth in Early 2025
According to data from the National Statistics Committee, Uzbekistan’s railway sector transported nearly 2.9 million passengers from January to March 2025. This impressive figure represents an increase of 91,100 passengers compared to the same period in 2024, indicating a growing demand for railway services throughout the country.
During this first quarter, an average of 31,900 passengers utilized railway transportation daily. This daily figure reflects a rise of 1,400 passengers per day compared to the same timeframe last year, underscoring the expanding popularity and effectiveness of rail travel in Uzbekistan.
As the country continues to enhance its railway infrastructure and services, this upward trend in passenger numbers showcases not only the convenience but also the importance of rail transport in connecting cities and facilitating travel across Uzbekistan.
