Turkish Coast Guard Rescues 46 Irregular Migrants off Ayvacık
The Coast Guard Northern Aegean Group Command has rescued 46 irregular migrants off Ayvacık, western Turkey. The migrants, from Yemen and Eritrea, were discovered on a rubber boat and pushed into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements. The “TCSG-28” boat team directed to the region was able to save the foreign nationals and transfer them to the Ayvacık Foreigners Removal Center for further procedures. This incident highlights the ongoing difficulties of irregular migration in the region and the crucial role of the Turkish Coast Guard in preventing tragedies at sea and ensuring the safety of all those in Turkish waters.
