Coast Guard Rescues 24 Irregular Migrants Drifting off Coast
A recent incident off the coast of a district prompted quick action from the Coast Guard, resulting in the successful rescue of 24 irregular migrants. According to a statement on the Coast Guard Command’s website, a Coast Guard boat was deployed to the region in response to information that a rubber boat carrying irregular immigrants had drifted off the coast and a request for help was made.
Among the 24 individuals rescued, 6 were children. The Coast Guard teams wasted no time in ensuring the safety of the migrants, taking them off the rubber boat and bringing them to safety. Following the rescue operation, the irregular migrants were handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for further procedures.
This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers faced by irregular migrants seeking to cross borders in search of a better life.
