SSK Retirees Await Payments Following Pension Increase Decision
SSK retirees are eagerly awaiting the additional payment of 2,500 TL following the decision to increase the lowest retirement salary to 12,500 TL. While civil servant retirees have already received their increased payments, SSK and Bağkur retirees are patiently waiting for the promised difference in their salaries.
According to Muhammet Bayram, a Sworn-in Certified Public Accountant and Economist, the decision to increase the lowest retirement salary has passed the Planning and Budget Commission and is expected to be accepted in the General Assembly of the Parliament this week. The payments are scheduled to be deposited into accounts between the 17th and 28th of the month, but Bayram doubts that these payments will be enough for all retirees.
If the additional payment is not received this month, it will be deposited into accounts in August along with the regular salary payments. This year has been declared the year of retirees, with various discounts and benefits being offered to retirees. These include free accommodation in KYK dormitories, a 20 percent discount on transportation, and discounts at PTT Cargo.
Bayram suggests that rather than focusing on high proportional increases, it would be more beneficial to provide discounts on items that retirees spend on in order to increase their purchasing power. He anticipates more discounts in clothing stores, chain markets, and places where retirees frequently shop in the coming months.
SSK and Bağkur retirees remain hopeful that the promised increase will be deposited into their accounts soon, providing them with some much-needed financial relief.
