Saudi Arabia Implements Automated Electronic Gates at Airports to Improve Service Quality
Saudi Arabia is taking steps to enhance the service quality at its airports by introducing 152 automated electronic gates at key locations including airports in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Medina. These electronic gates are playing a pivotal role in reducing passenger wait times and improving overall airport efficiency.
The automated gates allow travelers to pass through security without the need for human interaction, streamlining the boarding process. By simply scanning their boarding passes, passengers can swiftly move through the gates, making the entire experience more convenient and time-efficient. This automation not only benefits passengers but also helps airport staff by freeing up their time to focus on other important tasks such as assisting passengers with special needs or handling unexpected situations.
This initiative was made possible through a collaboration between the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority and the General Directorate of Passports, along with Matarat Holding. The electronic gates have been strategically installed at major airports in the country including King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, and Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina.
As Saudi Arabia continues to invest in modern technologies for its airport infrastructure, the implementation of automated electronic gates is a significant milestone towards improving the overall travel experience for passengers.
